In Serbia, Roma Women of Vojvodina held workshops focusing on Roma LGBT people. They face discrimination based on their Roma and LGBT identity, caused by a lack of knowledge within their own, and wider communities.
Up until now, 6 workshops were held in Roma settlements, attended by a total of 105 people, not necessarily part of the LGBT-community themselves. The workshops focused on increasing their knowledge about LGBT issues.
A pre-workshop survey showed that most attendants did not even know what ‘LGBT’ meant. However, a questionnaire held after the workshops, pointed out that 50% of the participants changed their attitude towards LGBT people. Find out more about this project.
