Trans Alliance Sierra Leone is a trans* youth community-based organization established in 2016. They promote and protect the rights of LGBTI people, as well as providing a safe environment for trans* people.
In Freetown, Sierra Leone, there is a great need for a shelter facility specifically serving the needs of trans* youth. According to Trans Alliance Sierra Leone (TASL), trans* youth face incredible obstacles to living healthy and successful lives on the street or in general shelters.
Together with Concerned Women Initiative, TASL opens a shelter for LBT people. Our funds enable the organizations to rent a safe space, purchase essential equipment, and train beneficiaries on human rights laws and other topics. Also, they offer psychosocial counseling in the shelter.
