FIATPAX, based in Managua Nicaragua, aims to end violence and discrimination against LGBTs by using tools like education, discussions, lobbying and research.
The last two years FIATPAX has observed a decline in the human rights situation in Nicaragua, mainly caused by state representatives and officials that ignore the constitution and laws.
With our funding, FIATPAX strengthened the position of LGBT human rights activists in Nicaragua who face life threatening situations because of their work. FIATPAX offered training sessions to 50 LGBT advocates and journalists on this subject. Also, an annual report about the situation of LGBTs in Nicaragua regarding human rights, civil freedoms, political rights and freedom of speech was developed.
