Centre for Development of People (CEDEP) held a trans* community training specifically aimed at transmen and gender non-conforming women in Malawi.
CEDEP is a relatively established LGBTI organization, but most of their projects focus on HIV-related issues. This means there is less attention for other sub-communities, such as transmen and gender non-conforming women. Our funding enables CEDEP to fill this gap in their programming.
This community lacks safe and social spaces to express themselves or connect with other members to share struggles and experiences. This is why CEDEP organizes several activities to build their community. The first part of the project focused on health and mental health needs. In July and August, social events and a quarterly football tournament are on the agenda.
