Asociación Familias Diversas de Argentina is an Argentinian NGO working to empower LGBTIQA+ families, by organizing meetings and workshops for LGBTIQA+ parents and their children.
According to Asociación Familias Diversas de Argentina (AFDA), low-income LGBTIQA+ families in Argentina currently face extra difficulties. As poverty is growing in the country, so are unemployment rates.
We fund AFDA so they can expand their services to low-income LGBTIQA+ families. AFDA believes that this helps to empower and organize this sub-community.
AFDA will organize a total of six family diversity meetings, where two activities will be carried out simultaneously. LGBTIQA+ parents’ workshops take place, while a children’s workshop for diversity will also be held. This is to help the children increase their social, emotional, and developmental well-being. This is important, as children of LGBTIQA+ parents may experience discrimination and bullying.
